Imaging Foundation Projects

Our hands-on programs are making a difference. Professionals and dedicated volunteers use cutting edge equipment and technology to create materials that have the power to teach and change the way we treat our oceans.

Cocos Island Exhibit

Shark

Challenge - Cocos Island is a Costa Rica National Park AND a World Heritage Site. Located 360 miles off the coast, most Costa Rican nationals will never visit. Without convenient access to the island, voters are not likely to back strong anti-poaching laws. This leaves the island vulnerable.

Solution - Create a realistic, high-definition exhibit for Costa Rica. The display will showcase the beauty and import of the island for the entire Costa Rica population. If people know Cocos Island, they will love her, if they love her they will protect her.

Sea Stars

Seastar

Challenge - Documentaries have become stale and have lost key audiences.

Solution - Sea Stars are entertainment professionals who are invested in protecting our oceans. These musicians, actors, editors and directors bring fresh ideas resulting in captivating and compelling productions.

Imaging Foundation Productions

Diver Video

Challenge - How to communicate information about natural history and environmental issues in short, cutting-edge style. Also to marry accurate educational information with compelling story lines and productions.

Solution - Create productions packages that will assist and inform teachers and students. In addition to traditional methods utilize new technology model (streaming video, podcasting) to distribute these productions. Short productions are also in use by journalists and government agencies to better document serious issues under discussion in many nations.

Student Programs

Sea Hunter Boat

Challenge - Expose a new generation to diving, the beauty of the ocean and to the importance of maintaining a healthy balance in our various ecosystems.

Solution - The Imaging Foundation develops student internship programs for education and environmental activism. Interns are involved in IF expeditions. These junior "ambassadors" leave the IF program inspired, educated and prepared to lead their own generation.

Image Database

Diver and Ray

Challenge - Educational programs and nonprofit groups don't have the resources to acquire high-quality images to use for their projects.

Solution - Create a free, searchable database of high-quality images, ocean environments and animals. These professionally created photos are available for educational and nonprofit environmental organizations at no charge to them.
