The Imaging Foundation is a group dedicated to developing image strong educational tools. These tools are made available to students, teachers and other nonprofit organizations.
The Imaging Foundation has recently launched its inaugural student internship program. Organization leaders are scattered across the United State. IF Director, Georgienne Bradley is currently living in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in Croydon, Pennsylvania. Georgienne's mother Theresa Bradley was a local teacher for many years, and later entered the political arena, always supporting educational causes and programs.
To continue this legacy, Georgienne will use this program to give students in lower Bucks County the opportunity to experience expedition photography. Participating students will learn real life skills from underwater photographers, journalists, scientists and graphics professionals. They will use material learned in the classroom and put it to use in "real world situations". Successful students will be invited to accompany Imaging Foundation members on expedition.
Expedition students will learn to SCUBA dive, travel to remote locations such as Sulawesi, Indonesia, Cocos Island, Costa Rica, Madagascar and other destinations. While there, they will be expected to assist with the production goals, identify animals, log video and develop classroom tools. After returning, students will teach at least four seminars at their home school, community center, and other venues.
Imaging Foundation will not only teach our interns about the opportunities that await them, but also strive to instill strong leadership skills which will help them communicate these new-found opportunities to fellow students. By taking IF interns on the road, we hope to open new doors and show them unexpected opportunities. Ambassador students will then return to their classroom and teach, (using student to student communication podcasts and other video and image-heavy tools) the excitement and mystery of far away lands and oceans. We hope that the energy brought back by our student ambassadors will stimulate other students to stay in school and commit themselves to their studies with hopes of creating a career that will make a difference.
